Out of the nes
Rajbha Gadhvi comes from Lilapani Nes, a herders' hamlet near Kankai and Banej inside the Gir forest of Amreli district. The sound that trained him as a boy was the radio, playing bhajans.
He never studied classical music. His craft is the folk idiom of Saurashtra — its dialect, its metres and its full, open-throated delivery.

Chapter two · અધ્યાય ૨
The first stage
Like many dayro artists, he started at religious gatherings in the villages and temples of Saurashtra, long before organisers were booking him for full evenings.
He has named Muktananda Bapu of Chaparda as his spiritual guide. His own channel carries the 2024 Guru Purnima Mahotsav dayro from Chaparda.
Temples, gaushalas and ashrams are still where most of his dayros take place.

The poet's notebook
He writes as well as sings. Gir ni Gangotri is a collection of his poems, verses and songs.
His song Saybo Re Govaliyo — Radha and Krishna in the cowherds' pastures — has travelled well beyond his own voice. Kirtidan Gadhvi is among the singers who perform it.

Kag's honour
In 2020 he was one of the five Gujarati recipients of the Kavi Kag Award, named after the poet Dula Bhaya Kag and given for contributions to Gujarati folk and Charan literature.
The award was set up in 2002 with the inspiration of Morari Bapu. It is presented each year at Kagdham (Majadar) in Amreli district.

Beyond Saurashtra
Most of his dayros are still in Gujarat — Rajkot, Rampara, Wadhwan, Sihor, Porbandar. But the dayro now travels too.
He played a London dayro in 2025. In August 2026 he sang at a Ram Katha in Kenya, and on 28 August 2026 he shared a London stage with Jignesh Barot.
